May 27, 2008 – 1:53 am

By Dale Leslie AAHS ‘66

Happy Memorial Day!
Q: What was Memorial Day originally called and what was significant about the former name? (answer below)

Radioites: Key of C, please. “When I dream about the moon along the Wabash, then I long for my Indiana home!” How complete is a Memorial Day weekend without Jim (Gomer Pyle) Neighbors singing “Back Home, in Indiana,” as 33 brave race car drivers, at 200+ miles-per-hour, make a continuous left turn for four hours at the Indy 500?

Tim Shy

October 22, 2006 – 11:50 pm

Tim Shy weaves prose with an artist’s gift. By the time he came to Pioneer, his passport had been stamped with several international destinations and he was able to view high school life from a unique perspective. Although he graduated from Community High, this recollection of the events, teachers and friends we had during our high school years proves that he’s every bit a Pioneer alum.
